S Jaishankar's visit to Pakistan: Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is going to visit Pakistan this month. For the first time after almost nine years, an Indian Foreign Minister will visit Pakistan.
Relations between the two countries have turned sour on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir and terrorism. Meanwhile, speculations are being made that bilateral talks can take place between India and Pakistan. Now Jaishankar has reacted on this.
Going there as a good member of SCO
Foreign Minister S. Before leaving for Islamabad, Jaishankar has made it clear that he will not hold any talks on India-Pakistan relations during his upcoming visit to Pakistan. At a program in Delhi, S. Jaishankar said, 'This visit is for a multidimensional program. I am not going to discuss India-Pakistan relations there. I am going there as a good member of SCO. But, you know, I am a polite and humble person, so I will behave like that.
Pakistan responsible for disrupting SAARC!
S. Jaishankar launched an indirect attack by blaming Pakistan for disrupting the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). He said, 'At present SAARC is not moving forward, no SAARC meeting has taken place. There is a very simple reason for this, one SAARC member is supporting cross border terrorism against another SAARC member. Which cannot be tolerated. India has always said that there will be no bilateral talks with Pakistan until it stops supporting cross-border terrorism.
SCO meeting will be held in Pakistan on 15 and 16 October
Pakistan will host the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting on October 15 and 16. It is noteworthy that before this, former External Affairs Minister of India Sushma Swaraj had gone to Islamabad in December 2015 to participate in the 'Heart of Asia' conference on Afghanistan.
