Will give training to 1 crore people

New Delhi: Microsoft will invest $3 billion (about Rs 25,700 crore) over two years to expand its cloud computing and artificial intelligence capabilities in India.

According to the company’s chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, the American tech company will train one crore people in India by 2030. The proposed $3 billion investment will be the company’s largest investment to date. Nadella also met Prime Minister Modi during his visit to India.

Microsoft provides its cloud computing services under Azure. The company has more than 60 Azure regions, covering more than 300 data centers. Nadella had come to India last February 2024 and then he had said that the company will provide AI skills to 20 lakh people of the country by 2025.

Its main objective was to train people from small towns and rural areas. Nadella said that India is progressing rapidly in AI research. This is creating new opportunities in the country.

Today we are announcing investments in infrastructure and skills. Which supports our commitment to make India AI-first. And this will help ensure that people and organizations across the country benefit from it extensively.

Microsoft’s Advantage India program now aims to train one crore Indians in AI skills by 2030. Under this initiative, Microsoft has so far provided training to 24 lakh Indians. In which 65 percent were women and 74 percent were from small towns. The aim of this initiative is to prepare the youth of India for employment in the field of AI.
