Pauri, 26 August (HS). Sanskrit Education Secretary Deepak Kumar visited the Central Sanskrit University, Shri Raghunath Kirti Campus. During this, he said that in the coming time, Uttarakhand Sanskrit Commission will do research on Indian knowledge tradition and Vedic mathematics in collaboration with Shri Raghunath Kirti Campus Devprayag.
Sanskrit Education Secretary Deepak Kumar held a meeting with Campus Director Prof. P.V.B Subramanyam and prominent faculty members. During this, Indian knowledge system and making Sanskrit a compulsory subject in school education were discussed. On this occasion, the Secretary proposed collaborative research initiatives with Uttarakhand Sanskrit University, other Sanskrit colleges and organizations dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Sanskrit language.
The secretary said that we will connect educational institutions, colleges and universities of Uttarakhand to the National Knowledge Network so that knowledge sharing can take place. Prof. Subrahmanyam presented the example of Himachal Pradesh before him and told that Sanskrit is compulsory there from the primary level. If the state government also implements Sanskrit as a compulsory subject from the primary level, then it will also promote, preserve and spread the Sanskrit language and new employment opportunities will also be available.
The Secretary said that we will definitely try to implement Sanskrit from the primary level. Attracting the attention of Sanskrit scholars, he said that everyone has faith and belief in the power of Vedic mantras and today it is the need of the hour. Our Sanskrit scholars should do scientific research on the effect of those mantras. How do these mantras affect our body and mind. If we do this type of research, only then will we be able to introduce the world to the importance and scientific nature of the Indian knowledge tradition. There is a need to do research in the present time. He said that a new vision will have to be brought to do special work in Sanskrit language and astrology.
