News India Live, Digital Desk: These days, Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ is witnessing tremendous terror at the box office. Directed by Aditya Dhar, this film has created historical records at the global level by crossing the Rs 800 crore mark in just a few days. Amidst this tsunami, now all eyes are on Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s much-awaited horror-comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’. The question in the minds of cinema lovers is whether the storm of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ will affect the release and earnings of Akshay’s film? Akshay Kumar himself broke his silence on this and gave a very mature and positive response.

“Three weeks is enough time”: Akshay’s mathematics

During a recent media interview, when Akshay was asked about the impact of ‘Dhurandhar 2’, he smiled and said, “I am very happy that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is doing so well and is drawing audiences to the theatres. It is a very good sign for the Hindi film industry.” Talking about the release date of the film (April 10, 2026), he clarified that there is a gap of 21 days between ‘Dhurandhar 2’ and ‘Bhoot Bangla’. According to Akshay, “Usually three weeks is enough time for any big film. We do not need to panic, rather it is a matter of happiness that the industry is flourishing again.”

‘Adult Action’ vs. ‘Family Comedy’

Akshay Kumar completely rejected any comparison between the two films. He said that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is an ‘A’ certificate intense adult action film, while ‘Bhoot Bangla’ is a fun horror-comedy aimed at children and families. Akshay stressed, “We have not made this film keeping in mind the trend, rather we have brought a great story on screen. The audience likes to watch all kinds of films, the film should have substance.”

Return with Priyadarshan after 14 years

‘Bhoot Bangla’ is also special because through this the pairing of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan is returning to the big screen after 14 years. Earlier this pair has given cult classic films like ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, ‘Hera Pheri’ and ‘Khatta Meetha’. Veteran actors like Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu and Vamika Gabbi will be seen along with Akshay in the film. The makers of the film are confident that when the doors of ‘Bhoot Bungalow’ will open on April 10, the audience will enjoy this new dose of laughter and fear amidst the hangover of ‘Dhurandhar 2’.

Tough challenge at the box office

Even though Akshay Kumar is looking confident, trade analysts believe that due to ‘Dhurandhar 2’ being in theaters for a long time and its huge demand on single screens, ‘Bhoot Bangla’ may have to struggle hard for the screen count. However, the date of April 10 coincides with the Good Friday weekend, which may benefit Akshay’s film. Now it has to be seen how much money this ‘Bhoot Bungalow’ of ‘Khiladi’ Kumar can collect at the box office.
