Central Sarkaremployees DA Hike: Central government employees may get good news on Diwali. The central government can increase the dearness allowance of employees by 3 percent. Its official announcement may happen around Diwali. According to the information, this decision may be approved in the next cabinet meeting.
Inflation allowance is calculated based on the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI), which tracks retail price movements, and is revised twice a year. Increase in DA means increase in salary of government employees. Government employees, who are facing the brunt of inflation, are also waiting for the increase in dearness allowance.
Arrears will also be available along with DA.
Central government employees are currently getting dearness allowance at the rate of 50 percent. Now if the government increases it by three percent, then dearness allowance will increase to 53 percent. The government may make the announcement now but it will be considered effective from July 1, 2024. That means arrears will also be paid to the employees. This decision of the Central Government will benefit 1 crore central employees/pensioners.
Himachal government increased DA
Last year, the government had announced an increase in dearness allowance just before the festive season. Earlier, before Dussehra, Himachal Pradesh government had given the gift of 4 percent DA increase to its employees. This is expected to benefit 1.80 lakh employees and 1.70 lakh pensioners of the state.
