Will any other player get a place in place of Ashwin? Know what the MCC rules say

The third test match is being played between India and England. The Indian team has suffered a big setback during the third match of the 5-match Test series being played in Rajkot. Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin is out of the entire series. Ashwin played on the first day of the Rajkot Test and completed his 500th Test wicket by taking one wicket. Now Ashwin is out of the entire series. Ashwin had to leave the team due to medical emergency. In such a situation, the big question is whether even after one day's play, any other player can be included in place of Ravichandran Ashwin in the third Test.

Ashwin out of Rajkot test

Team India has suffered a big blow due to Ravichandran Ashwin's exclusion during the Rajkot Test. Ashwin is a star all-rounder, he has the ability to destroy the English batting with his bowling, but now he is out of the entire series. In such a situation, it has to be seen who gets entry in the team in place of Ashwin. It is noteworthy that Ashwin's replacement is certain to come in the fourth match, but can Ashwin's replacement be included in the playing eleven in the third test itself or not?

What does the MCC rule say?

MCC Rule 1.2 states that no player may be substituted during a match without the consent of the captain of the opposing team. Only those players who are currently members of the team can be included in the team as replacement. No outside player can be brought into the team in place of any player. Apart from this, even if England captain Ben Stokes agrees to bowl in place of Ashwin in the third Test, that player will not be able to bowl in place of Ashwin. That player will be included only as a fielder. Whoever is included in place of Ashwin will be able to contribute with ball or bat only after the end of England's first innings.

These 6 players are on the bench

From this it has become clear that the Indian team can replace Ravichandran Ashwin in the third Test match only if England captain Ben Stokes agrees. At present Akash Deep, Shrikar Bharat, Mukesh Kumar, Devdutt Pardikal, Akshar Patel and Washington Sundar are on the bench. Rohit Sharma has ruled out Axar Patel from the third Test, so Washington Sundar is likely to get a chance in place of Ashwin.
