Martyr Army Jawan Pension: Who will get pension in the family of the soldiers who died while serving in the country's army? Who has the right to the pension of the martyred soldier? The central government answered this question of Congress MP Imran Masood in the Parliament on Friday. The government said that we are considering the matter that the pension should be divided between the martyr's wife and parents.
Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha that a proposal has been received to divide the family pension between parents and wife, which is being considered.
The proposal was sent by the army
The Defence Minister said that it has been learnt that the Army has also sent a proposal to the Defence Ministry on this subject. He said that the parents of the martyred soldiers have demanded an amendment in the law for financial help.
Let us tell you that according to the rules, gratuity, provident fund, insurance and ex-gratia amount are given as per the nomination or will of the martyr soldier. But in case of marriage, the pension amount is given to the wife of the martyr and the pension amount is given to the parents of an unmarried martyr.
Why did this issue arise?
There is still a debate on who should get the right to pension of martyred soldiers, their wife or parents. In the last few years, there have been complaints from the families of martyrs that the parents become helpless as the wife gets many benefits including martyr pension. Apart from this, in many cases, complaints have also come up about misbehavior with wives, throwing them out of the house or forcing them to remarry within the house.
In this case, apart from emotional support, financial support is also required for the parents or spouses who are already suffering endless pain. This is the reason why this issue has caught people's attention in recent times.
