Bihar Lok Sabha Election Result 2024 : In the results of Lok Sabha elections-2024, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has got the most success in Bihar. NDA has won 30 out of 40 seats in this state. While BJP won nine seats here, allies Janata Dal United (JDU) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) also performed the best. The most important thing is that Nitish Kumar has come into the field for BJP, which is far from majority in the country, and his party JDU has proved to be a game changer by winning 12 seats in the state. At the same time, BJP has suffered the biggest setback in Uttar Pradesh. In this state, the so-called weak parties Samajwadi Party and Congress have given a big blow to BJP, due to which BJP has to be satisfied with winning only 33 out of 80 seats. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has given new strength to the Indi alliance in Uttar Pradesh, while Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has disappointed the Indi alliance in Bihar. So let us know why Tejashwi could not succeed in stopping BJP in Bihar like Akhilesh?
Tejashwi was the leader of the Indi alliance in Bihar
In Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav's son and former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav led the opposition's campaign. In Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav led his party. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, out of the 40 seats in the state, BJP won 17, JDU 16, LJP six, Congress one. While RJD could not win a single seat in this election, Tejashwi Yadav's party improved its tally and won two seats. However, the important thing is that Tejashwi could not achieve the same success in Bihar as Akhilesh.
Akhilesh's party proved to be a game changer for the Indi alliance
The Samajwadi Party contested 62 of the 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh, while the Congress fielded its candidates on 17 seats, of which the SP won 37, the Congress six and the RLD two. The Samajwadi Party gave tickets to only five candidates from the Yadav community to retain its Muslim-Yadav (MY) voters and capture the votes of non-Yadav OBCs. These candidates were from the family of party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. The SP gave tickets to 10 Yadav faces out of 37 candidates in 2019.
SP gave tickets to only four Muslims
This time SP fielded only four Muslim candidates. Actually, Akhilesh tried to increase his vote share by giving fewer tickets to Muslims. The effect of his efforts reached Muslim-Yadav class, backward, Dalit, minority class. This time the party gave tickets to 27 candidates from non-Yadav OBC class, 15 candidates on Dalit-Scheduled Caste (SC) reserved seats and 11 upper caste candidates in general constituencies.
Why did Tejaswi Yadav fail?
The Samajwadi Party, in its efforts to reach out to Dalits, fielded a Pasi (Dalit) candidate, Awadhesh Prasad, from Faizabad (Ayodhya), the most important seat in the state, which he won. Tejashwi has also tried to expand the RJD's base beyond its traditional 'M-Y' vote bank, but the election results show that he has not had much success. In Bihar, the Congress contested 23 seats and the RJD nine.
Tejashwi's party was successful in these seats
Tejashwi's party has been successful in dividing the OBC Kushwaha voters in Aurangabad. RJD gave ticket to less popular Abhay Kushwaha, while BJP gave ticket to outgoing MP Sushil Kumar Singh, in which Kushwaha won. RJD's influence has also been seen in some important seats and the party has been successful in shifting its voters towards the Indi alliance. These major seats include Ara, where CPI (ML)'s LK Sudama Prasad defeated BJP's high-profile candidate and former Union Minister RK Singh. Apart from this, Congress' Manoj Kumar defeated BJP's Shivesh Kumar in Sasaram seat. In this way, RJD voters have shifted towards the Indi alliance in many seats of the state.
Which party got how many percent of votes out of the total voters?
Tejashwi Yadav's party Rashtriya Janata Dal got the highest number of votes with 22.14 percent of the total voters. Then BJP got 20.52 percent votes, JDU got 18.52 percent votes. RJD got the highest number of votes in the state, but it could not win seats. The Indian Alliance got 37 percent support from the total voters of the state, while NDA got 45 percent support. In the last election, NDA got 39 seats and got a total of 54 percent votes. While the opposition got 32 percent votes.
