Arvind Kejriwal: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal has filed a petition in the Supreme Court recommending extension of his interim bail by 7 days. Arvind Kejriwal has told the Supreme Court that he will have to undergo some tests including PET-CT scan. Aam Aadmi Party has said that the symptoms seen in Kejriwal may be a sign of serious kidney problem or even cancer. Kejriwal, who was arrested on March 21 in the money laundering case related to the alleged liquor scam, was given interim relief of 21 days by the Supreme Court and was asked to surrender and go to jail for the second time on June 2.
According to sources, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has lost 7 kg of weight after his arrest. Apart from this, his ketone level is very high. Max doctors have examined Kejriwal and the things that have come to light so far could be symptoms of some serious disease. Doctors have advised him to undergo PET-CT scan and several tests to allay his fears. This is the reason why Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has demanded an extension of bail by 7 days from the Supreme Court.
Delhi government minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi said, Arvind Kejriwal has filed an application to extend his interim bail by seven days. When Kejriwal ji was arrested, he lost seven kilos of weight. Weight does not increase. Doctors could not find out why the weight decreased. Ketone levels are very high. Weight loss and increased ketone levels can be symptoms of a more serious disease. It can also be a symptom of a serious kidney problem or cancer. So doctors say that he will have to undergo some tests. Even when Arvind Kejriwal was lodged in Tihar Jail, the Aam Aadmi Party had raised the issue of his weight loss. Arvind Kejriwal has also been a diabetic patient for a long time.
The Supreme Court has given interim relief to Arvind Kejriwal till June 1 to participate in the election campaign. The last phase of the Lok Sabha elections is on June 1. Kejriwal will have to surrender before the results on June 4. However, during the election campaign, Arvind Kejriwal had also claimed that if India Alliance wins, he will come out of jail the very next day.
