Why is ‘live-in’ relationship necessary before marriage, Zeenat Aman gave a new mantra, said – do not rely on romance

Veteran Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman is known for her outspoken and modern thinking. From social media to interviews, she often expresses her opinion on topics that are quite relevant to today’s generation (Gen Z). This time Zeenat has put forward an idea on ‘live-in relationship’ which has sparked debate. Zeenat believes that before getting into a legal bond like marriage, couples should live together for some time so that they can test their compatibility better.

Why is it important to look beyond the ‘honeymoon phase’

Zeenat Aman argues that many people live under the misconception that romance and ‘honeymoon phase’ will last forever after marriage, but the reality is far from this. Jeanette says, “People think romance will last, but nothing lasts forever. Relationships always evolve and move forward like a progression.” According to him, marriage is a big decision, so it is important that you know whether both of you can stand together in small and big challenges of life like finance management and future planning or not.

It is better to live happily for 5 years than to spend 15 years in trouble.

Zeenat said without any hesitation that if there is no ideological coordination between the couples, then there is no justification for marriage. She advises, “Why not live happily together for 5 years, rather than spend 15 years with someone unhappy?” The actress believes that living together before marriage gives couples a chance to understand each other’s habits, thinking and behavior, which can avoid major disputes in the future. Interestingly, Zeenat has given this advice not only to outsiders but also to her own children.

Zeenat’s bitter experience and learning

These thoughts of Zeenat Aman are inspired by the ups and downs of her own personal life. She married Sanjay Khan and later Mazhar Khan during her career, but both the relationships were very unhappy. She also faced domestic violence during her dispute with Sanjay Khan. After going through her bitter experiences, Zeenat believes that a woman should not rush into the decision of marriage and the foundation of a strong relationship should be based on mutual respect, understanding and compatibility and not just on attraction.
