Shocking statement of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar: In some areas of the country, the population ratio has changed so much that elections are not being held honestly. In such areas it is known in advance what the outcome of the elections will be. Addressing a conference of Chartered Accountants in Jaipur, the Vice President said that many areas of the country have turned into political fortresses. Elections and democracy have no importance in these areas, where the results are already decided. The rapidly changing population ratio has become a matter of concern in many parts of the world.

Population balance is like a nuclear bomb: Dhankhar

Elaborating on population, the Vice President said, 'If this rapidly increasing challenge is not dealt with properly, it will prove to be a challenge to our existence. This has happened in the world. I do not need to name the countries which lost their identity because there was a huge change in the population balance. It was as if an earthquake had hit this population. Such population imbalance is no less effective than a nuclear bomb.

We welcome Badha with open hearts: Vice President

Taking his point further, Jagdeep Dhankhar said, 'You see our culture. Our inclusive thinking, unity in diversity, benefits everyone and leads to progress for all. We welcome everyone with open arms, but what is happening? Wrong advantage is being taken from it. The ratio of population is changing. Once again divisive things are being said and for that caste is also being talked about.

Elections have no meaning: Dhankhar

Talking about the political perspective, Dhankhar said, 'Many areas have changed due to changing population. Such areas are being used as political fortifications. We saw such a change in the country that many areas became political strongholds. There is no meaning of democracy there. Even elections have no meaning. It is already known who will be selected. Such sectors are growing rapidly in our country. To face such a crisis, we have to rise above the differences of caste, creed, colour, culture and faith. Everyone will have to try together. As a pluralistic society, we are very tolerant. But, this can happen only if the population balance is not disturbed.
