After the attack on Amarnath Yatra in 2017, the army had launched Operation All Out. Its objective was to completely wipe out the terrorists. After the removal of 370 in 2019, the army intensified the All Out operation. Within two years, claims started being made that only a few terrorists are left in Kashmir. But now the question arises whether the terrorists were wiped out or did they retreat or run away in fear or remained hidden waiting for the opportunity?
Search operation in the forest on hold due to terrorist attacks one after another in Jammu
Questions are being raised whether the base of terrorism has now shifted from Kashmir to Jammu? After the death of 4 soldiers in the encounter in Doda, the search operation is currently underway. It is feared that 2 to 3 terrorists are hiding somewhere in the forests of Doda. There are many old caves in the forest and it is possible that they came from there and are hiding there now. The army has entered the forest and after that investigation is also going on from helicopters.
There is a lot of evidence that Jammu has become a hub of terror after the removal of Article 370. The first piece of evidence is the attack statistics. Considering the date of 5 August 2019 as the main date, there has been a 71 percent increase in the arrest of terrorists in the last 4 years as compared to the previous 4 years. Similarly, there has been a 43 percent increase in the incidents of terrorists attacking and escaping in the last 4 years. There has been a 39 percent increase in the recruitment of terrorists in the last 4 years instead of the previous 4 years.
Why target Jammu?
There are three reasons behind why the terrorists chose Jammu instead of Kashmir for their purpose. One is the large population of Hindus to target. Less security forces as compared to Kashmir and safe forests to hide. The recent confirmation of the terror hotspot shifting from Kashmir to Jammu is also coming from the terrorist attacks. It is no coincidence that terrorist attacks are happening one after another in Jammu. The strategy of the terrorists is that if you create a new Kashmir, we will create Jammu Kashmir. If you return home, we will empty Jammu of Hindus.
The challenge is to break the network of underground workers
Official information is that 7 terrorist groups are active in Jammu division. 4 groups are active in Doda and Kishtwar. 3 terrorist groups are active in Poonch and Rajouri. In which there are many hired foreign terrorists as well. These seven terrorist organizations are franchises of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. Among these, Kashmir Tigers, The Resistance Front, People's Anti-Fascist Front and Jammu Kashmir and Ghaznavi Force are the most important.
Kashmir Tigers have claimed responsibility for the Doda and Kathua attacks. It has also been revealed that 60 to 70 terrorists are present on launch pads across the border in Jammu. A big challenge in Jammu is also the network of underground workers of terrorists. Which takes them across the border, gives them shelter and also takes them to the forest after the attack.
