Why are BJP stalwarts afraid of contesting Lok Sabha elections in the neighboring state of Gujarat? Know the matter

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: As Lok Sabha elections are approaching, political parties are campaigning for the last phase. Along with this, political parties are also announcing their candidates. After announcing 195 candidates in the first list, BJP announced the second list of 72 candidates yesterday. BJP's second list also includes 20 names from Maharashtra. However, the mood of Maharashtra politics is such that the leaders of the state do not even want to go from here to Delhi. This is the reason why even in the current Lok Sabha elections, many leaders want that they should not be given Lok Sabha tickets.

BJP announces candidates for some prestigious seats in Maharashtra

In Maharashtra, BJP has announced the names of its candidates on prestigious seats like Nagpur, Pune, North Mumbai. One of these names is that of Sudhir Mungantiwar, who is the Forest Minister of the state. He has been fielded from Chandrapur seat of Vidarbha. According to information received from sources, he does not want to enter central politics and is more interested in Maharashtra politics. He also said, 'I am trying to get my ticket cancelled.'

BJP gave tickets to six new and five existing MPs

Of the 20 names announced by the party, six are new while five are sitting MPs. Now it is being said that BJP will announce at least 12 to 15 more tickets, in which some leaders of the state may get a chance. However, these leaders also do not want to go into central politics. This includes Ashish Shelar while Girish Mahajan, Chandrakant Patil and Chandrashekhar Bawankule have also been relieved. From where these three names were discussed, now other names have been announced. However, Ashish Shelar is still worried that his name might not figure in the list.

Leaders prefer to remain in Maharashtra politics

It is noteworthy that Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar had said in a public meeting two days ago that 'I do not want to enter the Parliament House through the doors which are made of Vidarbha wood.' However, BJP has fielded him from Chandrapur and if he wins, Mungantiwar will have to go through the same door. Girish Mahajan's name was discussed on Raver seat, but the party expressed confidence in Raksha Khadse here. He did not get the ticket because he did not fit into the caste equation of Raver and Jalgaon. Apart from this, the name of Minister Chandrakant Patil was also discussed for Pune seat, however, he heaved a sigh of relief when former mayor wrestler Muralidhar Mohol got the ticket from here. It is noteworthy that most of the leaders in Maharashtra are preferring to stay in Maharashtra politics instead of central politics.
