These days, a woman Sarpanch from Rajasthan is being discussed all over the world. This female sarpanch, famous as the hockey playing sarpanch, has received an invitation from the UN.
Rajasthan Sarpanch Neeru Yadav will participate in the United Nations program. She will be seen representing India at the United Nations annual conference CDP Meet 2024 on behalf of the Commission on Population and Development in New York, USA.
Neeru Yadav is the sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Langi Ahir of Buhana block of Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. He is also known as Hockey Sarpanch. Neeru Yadav prepares the girls' hockey team of her gram panchayat and makes them practice regularly through a coach.
Sarpanch Neeru Yadav has been invited to represent India at the UN CPD Meet-2024 to be held in New York from April 29 to May 3. Neeru Yadav will present her views on the topic of leadership experience of elected public representatives.
Neeru Yadav is also accompanied by Kunuku Hema Kumari, Sarpanch of Pikaru Gram Panchayat in Andhra Pradesh and Supriya Das Dutta, President of Sipahijala District Council in Tripura.
Sarpanch Neeru Yadav celebrates her birthday as Road Safety Week. Till now she has distributed 1100 ISI mark helmets on her birthday. Apart from this, rural women have been empowered by making bags from old clothes.
For environmental protection, a new campaign has been started by giving trees as Kanyadaan on the occasion of marriage. Under the Mera Pad-Mera Dost campaign, 21 thousand saplings were distributed free of cost to government school students.

Two other daughters of India have also been summoned by the United Nations. Ranjita Priyadarshini from Odisha and Dr. Monica from Maharashtra will participate in the United Nations Civil Society Conference 2024 at UNEP Headquarters, Nairobi, Kenya on 9 and 10 May.
