The National Examination Agency i.e. NTA is currently surrounded by controversies. Subodh Kumar Singh was appointed DG of NTA in June-2023 last year. Since then he is in this position. Earlier he was working as Additional Secretary in the Union Food Ministry. Subodh Kumar Singh, a 1997 batch Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer, hails from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His father was a primary school teacher.

He has completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the country's top IIT Roorkee. After this, he studied Master of Engineering from the branch. He has also completed NBA from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
Where was the posting?
After IAS training, his first posting in 2018 was as Assistant Collector in Mandla district. After this, he was made SDO of Korea. After the formation of Chhattisgarh state, he was made the first District Panchayat CEO of Bastar district. After this, in the year 2002, he was appointed to the post of Raigarh DM. He has also been the collector of Raipur and Bilaspur. Apart from this, he has worked on many other posts.
Why was the NET exam cancelled?
The UGC NET exam was conducted by the National Examination Board on June 18. Due to the possibility of tampering in the paper, the Ministry of Education canceled the examination of June 19 last night and handed over the investigation of the case to the CBI. At the same time, two candidates arrested in the NEET UG paper leak case have confessed to receiving the paper before the exam. The NEET UG 2024 exam was conducted by NTA on June 5 and the result was declared on June 4.
