Indian shooter Sarabjot Singh has won another bronze medal for India. He won the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event with Indian shooter Manu Bhaker at the Paris Olympics 2024. In 2023, he secured an Olympic quota for India by winning a bronze medal at the 15th Asian Shooting Championships in South Korea.
Who is Sarabjot Singh?
Sarabjot Singh was born in a farmer family in Ambala. He is a resident of Dhin village of Ambala. He studied at DAV College, Chandigarh. He has taken his training under the supervision of Abhishek Rana. Seeing his recent form, everyone was confident that he would win a medal in the Olympics.
He started his career by winning a gold medal at the 2019 Junior World Championships. He won team gold at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou and a bronze medal at the 2023 Asian Championships. He also won a gold medal in the 10m air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup 2023 in Bhopal. Currently he won another gold medal at the ISSF World Cup 2024 in Munich.
Left football and started shooting
At the age of 13, Sarabjot Singh saw some children firing air guns at a shooting range during a summer camp. During this time he decided to make a career in shooting. Earlier he wanted to become a footballer. In 2014, he told his father about his dream. To which his father replied that this game is very expensive. Ultimately he had to bow down to his son's insistence. After this Sarabjot Singh started his training. He won the gold medal in the 2019 Junior World Championship Suhl.
