Smita Gate is a 1992 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, currently serving as Additional Principal Secretary in the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare with additional charge of Food and Civil Supplies.
Born on 16 March 1966 in Pune, Smita was dedicated to her studies from the beginning. He completed his schooling from Central School. After this, he obtained a degree in Microbiology from Nowrosji Wadia College for further studies. After this he studied sociology from Smita Garwar College of Science and Arts.
Smita Gate became famous when she joined Nitish Bhardwaj, famous for the role of Lord Krishna in BR Chopra's 'Mahabharata'. Smita Gate and Nitish Bhardwaj met each other through a friend. After just a few meetings, their relationship quickly deepened and blossomed into love. After which both of them decided to get married.

Actor Nitish Bhardwaj has lodged a complaint with the police. He has claimed that his ex-wife and IAS officer Smita Gate has kidnapped his two daughters and is not allowing him to meet her. They don't know about their daughters. Nitish Bhardwaj lodged a written complaint with Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra on February 14, after which investigation has been started.
In the complaint, Nitish Bhardwaj has claimed that his IAS wife Smita Gate, who is currently posted in Bhopal, does not allow him to meet their daughters.
Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra said, “We have received a complaint from Nitish Bhardwaj that he is not being allowed to meet his daughters. Additional Police Commissioner Shalini Dixit has been asked to start investigation. Nitish Bhardwaj has alleged that he was 'mentally tortured.' He said that his daughters were taken out of the boarding school without their knowledge and sent to an unknown place.
Nitish Bhardwaj has said that his case (of marital dispute) is pending in the family court. He claimed that the family court had ordered him to meet his daughters but it was not allowing him to do so. Sources said that Bhardwaj has demanded the custody of his two daughters. According to the Indian Express, Smita Gate only said that she would give a statement on the matter after watching Bhardwaj's video (on the matter).
