What is NOK rule
NOK (Next Of Kin) means belonging to a person's life partner, closest relative, family member or legal guardian. When a person joins the Army, his/her parent or guardian is registered on the NOK form. As per Army rules, when a cadet or officer gets married, their spouse's name is registered as their NOK instead of their parents.

In such a case, NOK has to be paid as per the rules get all the benefits If anything happens to a soldier or officer during service, then all military facilities are given to the NOK from the financial assistance amount they get. That is, if the soldier is married, then this amount is given to his wife and if he is not married, then this amount is given to his parents. Ravi Pratap Singh has demanded a change in these rules. He has demanded that apart from the widow, the parents should also get the amount.
