Varanasi, June 22 (HS). A contracted Roadways bus lost control and overturned while trying to save a bike rider in front of Balramganj Petrol Pump in Cholapur police station area on Sunday. The bike rider died in the accident. More than 20 passengers in the bus were injured. Hearing the cries of the injured, people from nearby areas also reached the spot. The police immediately admitted the injured passengers to Cholapur Community Health Center. After primary treatment, the seriously injured passengers were referred to BHU Trauma Center.
According to eyewitnesses, a Roadways contracted bus loaded with passengers was going to Ghazipur from Varanasi. As soon as the bus reached in front of Balramganj petrol pump, the bus driver applied brakes to save a biker who suddenly came in front and the bus went out of control and overturned in a ditch on the side of the road. More than 20 passengers travelling in the bus were injured in the accident. The young man riding the bike died. With the help of local people, the injured were admitted to the Community Health Center by ambulance for treatment. The deceased was identified as Shivkumar Yadav, resident of Hathiyar Kala Cholapur from his Aadhar card. On getting information about the accident, the family members of the deceased also reached the spot.
