Discussion in Pakistan on Indian elections: The opposition in the country is raising questions on the Election Commission and the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). But the opposition leader in the Parliament of neighbouring country Pakistan has praised EVMs and India's election system. Pakistan's opposition leader Shibli Faraz raised questions on Pakistan's election process and said, 'I do not want to give the example of any enemy country, but elections were held there, more than 80 crore people voted. The elections were conducted using EVMs. Thus, fair elections were held and this is what we want.'

India's election process praised in Pakistan

According to reports, Shibli Faraz, senator and opposition leader of Imran Khan's political party Tehreek-e-Insaf in the Pakistani parliament, has praised India's election process while pointing fingers at the irregularities in Pakistan's election process. Faraz, while criticizing the ruling party leaders in the parliament, said, “I do not want to give the example of any enemy country, but there was an election recently, more than 80 crore people voted. Thousands of polling stations were set up. They had even set up a polling station at one place for one person. The election lasted for a month, the election was conducted using EVMs. In this way, fair elections were held and this is what we want.”

Leader of the opposition in the Pakistani parliament Shibli Faraz said, “When Pakistan's elections were rigged, was there any voice? Why can't we also conduct our elections in a free and fair manner? Despite being the world's largest democracy, India has successfully completed its large-scale elections without any allegations of electoral fraud.”
