Kolkata, 17 October (HIST). R.G. As part of its investigation into financial corruption in the Kar Medical College and Hospital, the CBI has sent a list of officials under investigation to the state. This includes Professor-cum-Physician of the Department of Anesthesia Sujata Ghosh and another doctor Devashish Som. CBI has given this information through a letter to State Health Secretary Narayan Swaroop Nigam. This letter has been sent on the basis of the hearing held in the Supreme Court on September 30. The issue was raised in that day's hearing that some people under investigation by CBI were still under investigation by R.G. They are working at their posts in the hospital. A demand for his suspension or sending him on leave was made in the Supreme Court.
The state had also given an assurance in the Supreme Court that as soon as they get the list of people coming under CBI investigation, action will be taken against them. The state counsel said that no matter how influential those people were, the state would have no problem in taking action against them. During this, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court had also said that if CBI gives the list, then the state will have to take action as per law. This part of the September 30 hearing has also been mentioned in the letter sent by the CBI.
In the letter sent to the Health Secretary, CBI has written that R.G. Two doctors, Sujata Ghosh and Devashish Som, are under investigation in connection with financial corruption at Kar Hospital. According to CBI, both of them have been found to have active participation in the purchase of various materials and the selection process of house staff. CBI officials are investigating what role they played in this financial corruption. If names of other officers related to RG tax come to light in future, they will also be informed to the state.
