Forbesganj/Araria, September 12 (HS). An eight-member special state-level team reached the affected village today to investigate the case of children falling sick and dying due to unknown reasons during the last fortnight in Chirwaha ward number 11 of Majhua Purba Panchayat under Raniganj block of Araria district. The special investigation team reached the affected village and met the affected families and took detailed information from them about the incident. The team also made necessary inquiries from local villagers and health officials about the possible reasons. To find out the reasons for the death of the children, the team members also took stock of the geographical and environmental conditions of the village. Many types of samples were taken from different places in the affected village, so that the correct reasons could be reached.
Araria Civil Surgeon Dr. KK Kashyap said that the entire village has been sanitized and he said that bleaching powder is also being sprayed. Along with this, our health department team is deployed 24 hours in the village school. Prima facie, this case of death is coming to light due to Chikungunya. The team is investigating at every level and the rescue work will also be started. If the condition worsens, then ambulance service is also available 24 hours in the village to take them to a higher center. Today a team of experts has come from Patna and they are finding out the reasons due to which these innocent children have lost their lives.
