The Meteorological Department has declared a red alert in Rajasthan, Punjab, UP, Haryana, Delhi and Chandigarh till May 29. During Nautapa, the highest temperature was recorded in Phalodi, Rajasthan, where the temperature was 50 degrees on the first day Saturday, 49.8 degrees on Sunday and 49.4 degrees on Monday. The mercury remained close to 48 degrees at 17 places in the country including Phalodi.
