Jammu and Kashmir: The Election Commission has announced the dates of Lok Sabha elections 2024 today (Saturday). This time the Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases and the first phase of voting will start from April 19 and the seventh i.e. the last phase of voting will be held on June 1 and the election results will be declared on June 4. Meanwhile, Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said, 'The Election Commission is committed to holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir immediately after the Lok Sabha elections.'
When will Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections be held?
Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar said that the tenure of the Lok Sabha is ending on June 16. In such a situation, a new Lok Sabha will have to be formed first. The assemblies of Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Odisha are also expiring on different dates in June this year and assembly elections are also to be held in Jammu and Kashmir. The sixth phase of voting will be held on May 25 and the seventh phase of voting will be held on June 1. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.
