There is good news for the drivers of Delhi-NCR. The movement of vehicles on the corridor being built to connect the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to DND in the capital will start in the new year. In Delhi, about 12 kilometers of the DND to Faridabad border has been completed. 50 percent of the work has been completed on the nine kilometer section between DND and Jaitpur. At present, entry and exit routes are being made in the link road near DND and Jaitpur. At the same time, the service road of the seven kilometer long elevated corridor on this part is also almost ready. NHAI officials say that efforts are being made to complete the project within the stipulated time. With the start of the journey in the new year, movement on the Delhi-Mumbai Express will become signal free.
Actually, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is currently starting from Sohna. The National Highway Authority (NHAI) had prepared a plan to connect it to Delhi. In this, a 59 km long access control link was to be built from the DND flyover near Maharani Bagh to Sohna. Its estimated cost is about five thousand crore rupees. The entire link is being built in three sections, out of which two sections are under construction and vehicles are running on the 26 km long KMP from Faridabad to Sector-65. At the same time, 70 percent of the work has been completed on the 24 km section from Jaitpur to Sector-65 in Faridabad. 50 percent of the work has been completed on about nine kilometers between DND and Jaitpur. The Faridabad section is expected to be completed in December and the Delhi section in January-February.
National Highway Authority officials say that an elevated corridor is being prepared in the Delhi section. The construction of the structure is in its final stage. Launchers have not been added at some places, work is being done to add them. Crash barriers and sound barriers have been installed. At the same time, the work of building a service road under the elevated corridor has also been started. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway link road is starting from Sarai Kale Khan near Maharani Bagh. In such a situation, a connecting road will be built here for the drivers going to Noida, Ashram and Delhi Dehradun.
NCR connectivity will be strengthened
Once the 59 km long six lane link expressway is fully completed, the connectivity of NCR will be strengthened. Passengers from Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad will not have to pass through the congested Mathura Road to go to Palwal, Agra or Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Currently, due to high pressure of vehicles on Mathura Road, drivers have to face traffic jams. This is the only route through which one can go to Faridabad, Mathura and Palwal. With the opening of the link expressway, drivers will get an alternative route.
Those going towards Dehradun will also benefit
An elevated road will be constructed from the link expressway towards Sarai Kale Khan. This will enable drivers to go directly to Akshardham via the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. This will enable them to go to the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway.
