Hardoi, May 25 (HS). Government treasury is being looted in the name of development of villages. Attempts are made to bribe the officials who take action with the money from scams, this is the reason why action cannot be taken against the corrupt.
The latest case is from development block Tariyawan, where a Panchayat Secretary posted there not only gave work to his own nephew's firm Aditya Construction Traders for works and purchases under the State Finance Commission, Fifth Finance Commission and MNREGA in five gram panchayats of his area of work, in Bahar, Asha, Nanakganj Grant, Behta Chand and Ramnagar, but also provided financial benefit by paying government money worth more than Rs 40 lakh.
Panchayat Secretary Narendra Verma, who is handling the work of Assistant Development Officer, has also paid wages and masons on the savings account of his nephew Aditya. Lakhs have also been paid on the accounts of another relative Parvinder. A complaint has also been lodged in the matter, in which it is told that after the government's order to stop work, purchase and payment from relatives' firms, the Panchayat Secretary has paid more than 40 lakhs from the financial year 2022-23 till now.
The details of payments of the State Finance Commission and the Fifth Finance Commission are also being displayed in the online payment report on the e-Gram Swaraj portal of the Panchayati Raj department, while making payments into the firms and accounts of relatives is against the government order.
In this regard, CDO Saumya Gururani said that the matter is serious, the matter will be investigated immediately, strict action will be taken as per rules against the officers and employees found guilty.
