Parachute: The 21st century is called the modern century. New inventions are being made daily in every field. With time people's dreams are also coming true. That's why today people can take a tour of the sky without playing. Seeing the parachute flying, a question arises in the mind as to who invented it. When will this unique technology be discovered? Why do Air Force pilots never fly without a parachute? When did the first parachute flight take place? Today we want to give you complete information about one such question. So let's see when the parachute was invented.
Thus the 18th century is considered the beginning of modern invention. Many such inventions were made in the 18th century which became very useful later on. One of which is parachute, parachute is considered the best weapon to provide safety in emergency situations. That is why parachutes are used to go safely.
Interesting history of parachute-
Parachutes were first used to land aircraft on ice during Arctic research in Russia in 1937. Since the ice surface is smooth, the plane cannot land. But with the help of parachute the plane was successfully stopped on the ice. The use of parachutes saved many lives in World War II. Nowadays, parachutes are made so large that in case of an emergency, the entire aircraft can be suspended in the air and brought down safely.
When was the parachute invented?
After seeing the parachute, everyone wants to know its history. After the invention of parachute, the fear of falling has vanished from people's minds. Parachute is a scientific device which is used to safely remove a person from a flying aircraft in case of emergency. The parachute was invented by Andre Garnerin in 1783.
History of Parachute –
Louis-Sébastien Lanorma of France is officially credited with creating the world's first parachute. Who did the first public demonstration of parachute in the year 1783. This parachute was made of cloth with the help of a stick. So in the 15th century Leonardo da Vinci imagined and drew a parachute. Based on the design of the parachute, Leonardo da Vinci created a parachute named Homo Volens. First, in 1617, Francis jumped from a Venice tower. At that time, jumping from the sky like this was not an easy task.
Parachute was used for the first time in 1785-
In the year 1785, French citizen Jean-Pierre Blanchard used parachute for the first time in an emergency. A dog sitting in a basket was successfully landed on the ground from an air balloon flying in the sky. After this success, Jean-Pierre Blanchard made a parachute from silk fabric.
Perforated parachute in 1797-
In 1797, Andre Garnery of France made a successful jump from a height of 3 thousand feet. Some improvements were made to reduce vibration of the parachute. So in 1797, the first perforated parachute was invented. So in the year 1837, Robert Cocking demonstrated flying a parachute in Box Hall Garden, London. However, Robert died when the stick's structure broke after jumping from 5,000 feet.
Parachute fabric changed with time –
Initially parachutes were made using fabric with a stick template. But Phan Tasl made an umbrella-shaped parachute using cotton fabric. Which also became quite popular. After some time, instead of thread, silk cloth started being used to make parachutes. This made the parachute lighter and stronger. Presently nylon is used to make parachutes.
Use of parachute-
In World War II, American soldiers used parachutes to reach from one place to another. Parachutes were used to cover certain areas that fighter aircraft could not reach. In war, parachutes are used to deliver troops, food and ammunition to enemy territory. Parachutes are also used to land astronauts safely. Therefore parachute is used to enjoy the sky journey on the beach. Not only this, parachutes are also used to observe scientists and forests from above.
