Justice Vikram Nath and Justice P.B. Parleni Bench dismissed these petitions. This application was made by the applicant Jayant Bipat. He filed this petition in 2022 and claimed that as a political party, BJP is not entitled to the benefits of a registered party under the Representation of the People Act. He also sought directions to stop the benefits being given to the party and also demanded to stop the use of lotus as a symbol. The special thing is that the civil court dismissed this case in October 2023 on technical grounds. After this, Bipat filed an application in the Madhya Pradesh High Court and after getting a setback from there, he reached the Supreme Court.
