Patna, August 12 (HS). One of the two soldiers martyred in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday is Deepak of Lauwan Kala in Baniyapur police station area of Saran district. Martyr Deepak Kumar Yadav is the 32-year-old son of Suresh Rai, who was posted as a Havildar in the Army in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir.
As soon as the news of the martyrdom of the soldier was received, there was mourning in the entire village. The old parents of the soldier are crying inconsolably. It is said that on Saturday, there was information about terrorists entering the forests of Kokernag in Anantnag. After the information, the army soldiers and RPF soldiers jointly launched an operation to catch the terrorists, in which Baniyapur's brave son Deepak was also present. The terrorists hid in the dark forest and hills and started firing continuously. In the attack, the soldier was shot in the chest. Even after being injured, the soldier kept fighting with the terrorists till late night. Ultimately, the soldier died on the spot itself. After this, other colleagues involved in the operation got the information about the martyrdom of the soldier.
After the body of martyr Deepak arrives at Patna airport in the afternoon, the martyr will be saluted in the presence of Patna Range IG Garima Mallim, District Magistrate Chandra Shekhar, SSP Rajiv Mishra and many senior army officials. After this, the body of the soldier will be taken to his ancestral home in Lauvan Kala village under Baniyapur police station area of Saran district, where the last rites will be performed with state honors.
Family members said that the soldier kept his wife Anita Devi and eight-year-old son Amit with him. Martyr Deepak's elder brother Bijendra Yadav is also serving in the Army. On receiving the news of the martyrdom of the Jawan, many people from the surrounding area reached his ancestral home and consoled his elderly parents.
