Ganesh Chaturthi 2024 immersion date: The Chaturdashi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month is dedicated to Lord Shri Ganesha. This date is known as Anant Chaturdashi 2024. On this auspicious occasion, Ganpati Bappa is immersed. So know the date, auspicious time and extinction rules of this date.

Anant Chaturdashi auspicious time

According to the Panchang, the Chaturdashi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month is starting on 16 September 2024 at 03:10 pm. This date will end on 17 September at 11:44 am. This year Anant Chaturdashi will be celebrated on 17 September, Tuesday. The auspicious time for Ganesh Visarjan is as follows-

  • Morning time- 09:11 am to 01:47 pm.
  • Afternoon Muhurta – From 03:19 PM to 04:51 PM.
  • Evening Muhurta- From 07:51 to 09:19.
  • Night Muhurta – On September 18 from 10:47 pm to 03:11 pm.

Rules for Ganesh Visarjan

  • While taking the idol of Ganpati for immersion, make sure that its face is towards the house. It is believed that keeping the back towards the house displeases Lord Ganesha.
  • Before Ganesh Visarjan, pray to Ganesh Bappa for happiness in life and ask for forgiveness from him for the mistakes committed knowingly or unknowingly.
  • Before immersion, Aarti of Lord Ganesha should be performed and desired items should be offered.
  • Ganpati Bappa should be bid farewell in the auspicious time.
  • The items offered during the puja should be immersed along with the Deity.
  • Lord Ganesha should be prayed to come again next year.
