New Delhi/Washington: After claiming that the US has conspired to topple the Modi government in India, Russian media Sputnik India has made another allegation against the US. The US is deliberately delaying the delivery of GE F-404 engines for India's fighter jet Tejas Mark-1A to harm India, due to which Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had to visit the US. Amidst these reports, Rajnath Singh signed an SOS agreement with the US Defense Minister.

The Tejas Mark-1A programme is crucial for the Indian Air Force and the timely delivery of GE F-404 engines from US company General Electric is also crucial for it. India and the US have signed several agreements in recent years that have significantly strengthened defence ties, including the purchase of Apache helicopters, MQ-9B drones and an agreement to jointly manufacture GE F414 jet engines. However, delays in the supply of critical components such as the F-404 engines could strain India-US relations.

Dr. Abhinav Pandya, CEO of Usanas Foundation India, raised questions over the delay in the supply of GE F-404 engines. According to a report by Russian media Sputnik India, the US is delaying the delivery of this engine as part of Dr. Pandya's strategy to hurt India. However, he said that these are just suspicions and more evidence is needed to prove them.

However, the US has officially blamed the global supply chain for the delay of the GE F-404 engine. The problem has led to an 11-month delay in the delivery of the engine. While GE Aerospace has informed Hindustan Aeronautics Limited about the delay in delivery, the issue is believed to have been raised during the current four-day US visit of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Meanwhile, during Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's visit to Washington, India and the US signed the Security of Supply Arrangement (SOSA), which is a very important defence agreement for both the countries. The agreement will enable the acquisition of the required industrial resources to overcome bottlenecks in the supply chain in the defence sector of both the countries and will open the door to new commercial opportunities in the defence sector of both the countries. Rajnath Singh met US Defence Minister Austin in Washington DC. Along with this, the US has also signed an agreement with India to provide anti-submarine warfare sonobuoys.

Along with this, America has also given permission to provide anti-submarine warfare ASW sonobuoy to India. India and America shared this 52.8 million i.e. 52 crore rupees. A deal of 442 crores has been done.
