WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature that will soon allow users to block messages from unknown people. Currently, the option to block that unknown user is available only when the message arrives, but it seems that after enabling the upcoming feature, messages from unknown senders will be blocked even before they arrive. According to a website that tracks WhatsApp features, the instant messaging platform says that this will improve the performance of the device and at the same time users will be able to keep their account more secure than before. Let us tell you that recently WhatsApp started a special feature for the people of Delhi, in which people will be able to book their metro train tickets through WhatsApp itself. The platform has also joined hands with Delhi Police, under which now challans will be sent to people's WhatsApp.
Feature tracker WABetaInfo has spotted a new feature on WhatsApp beta for Android, under which messages from unknown senders can be blocked. This feature has to be enabled by going into the settings. According to the tracker, the feature has been seen on WhatsApp beta version 2.24.17.24. According to the screenshot shared, the feature will be introduced under the name 'Block Unknown Account Messages'. It has a toggle button, which is off by default and users will be able to enable it through settings.
The description of this feature is as follows, (translated) “To improve the security of your account and device performance, WhatsApp will block incoming messages from unknown accounts if they exceed a certain volume.”
