Vaishnav said that the first bullet train will be ready in the year 2026 and will run in a section from Surat. The Railway Minister said that significant progress has been made in the construction of stations. Along with this, work on the sea tunnel has also started. Bullet train will reach Mumbai from Thane through this tunnel. The Railway Minister said that with the introduction of Bullet Train, the economy of Mumbai, Thane, Vapi, Vadodara, Surat, Anand and Ahmedabad will unite.
Surat in the morning, Mumbai in the afternoon and Surat again in the evening.
The Railway Minister said that after the launch of Bullet Train on this route, you can have breakfast in Surat and go to Mumbai for work and come back to your family in Surat. At night. Work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Corridor began in November 2021. Initially the work of 1 km viaduct was completed in 6 months. After which the work of 50 kilometers was completed by April 2023.
An official said that there will be a total of 70 trips of the bullet train on this route from 6 am to 12 noon. There is also talk of a bullet train project between Delhi and Ayodhya in the future. Experts say that if this happens, Delhi's economy will be connected to many cities of Uttar Pradesh.
Fare will be less than flight
In an event, on the question regarding the fare of Bullet Train, the Railway Minister said – Wherever Bullet Train is running in the world, 90 percent of the people are using Bullet Train for long distances. travel. That means Bullet Train fare will be cheaper than flight fare. According to a report, the fare for bullet train from Mumbai to Ahmedabad can be around Rs 3 thousand.
Total cost Rs 1.08 lakh crore
The Railway Minister said that the cost of Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is approximately Rs 1.08 lakh crore. Out of which the Central Government will spend Rs 10 thousand crores. Maharashtra and Gujarat governments will spend Rs 5 thousand crores. The remaining amount is being financed by a loan from Japan, which carries an interest rate of 0.1 percent.
