Navratri has special significance in Hindu religion and various forms of Mother Goddess are worshiped for nine days. Although Navratri comes four times a year, but Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri have their own special significance. Chaitra Navratri is celebrated mainly because during this time Goddess Durga killed the demon Mahishasura. Since then, nine forms of the Mother Goddess are worshiped and devotees worship the Mother with full rituals to please her.
On the day of Chaitra Navratri, a Kalash is installed and a continuous flame is lit which keeps burning for the entire nine days. After this, Navratri ends on Navami Tithi, which is also called Ram Navami.
Many times we have a curiosity in our mind that after the end of Navratri, what to do with the remaining puja materials, kalash and coconut and how to immerse the Akhand Jyoti. We talked to astrologer Pandit Ramesh Bhojraj Dwivedi about this. Let us know about the complete rules of immersion from Kalash to Akhand Jyoti.
When to immerse the Kalash during Chaitra Navratri?
During Chaitra Navratri, when the entire nine days of puja is over, the Kalash should be removed or dissolved from the place of worship on the ninth day i.e. on the day of Ram Navami.
After worshiping the girl on Navami Tithi, the Kalash should be broken. After Kanya Puja on Navami Tithi, first of all take out the coconut from the Kalash and keep it aside to dissolve.
Kalash immersion should be done only after the end of any Navratri date. You can also immerse the Kalash on the tenth day after Chaitra Navratri. Keep in mind that Kalash immersion should always be done at an auspicious time.
What to do with the coconut kept in the vase
When you pick up the Kalash from near Mata Chowk, first of all separate the coconut and tie it in a red cloth and keep it in the temple or safe of the house. You can float this coconut in the river.
Also, accept the coconut offered to Mother Goddess as Prasad and feed it to the girls also. If you keep the coconut tied in a cloth, the same coconut can be used next time during Navratri. Keep in mind that coconut should never be thrown in the garbage or kept in a dirty place like near the bathroom.
What to do with the water kept in the urn
After taking out the coconut from the urn, sprinkle the water kept in it all over the house and keep the remaining water in a vessel. This water should never be drained into drains or basins. This water is considered as sacred as Ganga water and sprinkling it throughout the house brings positive energy to the entire house. Keep the coins kept inside this Kalash in your safe or purse. This keeps your financial condition good.
What to do with Akhand Jyoti after Chaitra Navratri
, If the unbroken flame burns then let it extinguish on its own. A solid flame should never be extinguished intentionally or by blowing. If you deliberately extinguish the Akhand Jyoti then it is not considered auspicious.
After the Akhand Jyoti is finished, remove the wick and if there is any oil left in it, you can use that oil again in the puja. The oil of Akhand Jyoti lamp is also considered very sacred.
What to do with the tides growing near the Kalash during Chaitra Navratri?
When you dissolve the Kalash, take out the grass growing near the Kalash from the vessel and dissolve it in the pond. Take out some of these coins and keep them in your safe or place where you keep your money. Due to which there is never shortage of money in your house. Jura is believed to be a symbol of prosperity in your home.
What to do with the rice kept below during Chaitra Navratri Kalash immersion?
Whenever you install the Kalash, it is considered important to keep Akshat under the Kalash. After immersing the Kalash, the Akshat kept below it should be sprinkled in the entire house.
Keep the extra rice in the home granary and the remaining rice in the tank.
Rules for immersion of Kalash during Chaitra Navratri
Whenever you install a Kalash in the house, you have to keep in mind that you pour it as per the rules. If you do not break this Kalash then it is an insult to Mother Goddess.
You should chant some mantras at the time of immersion of the Kalash. In this, Om Aim Hreem Kleem Chamundayai Vicche. Chanting mantra is most auspicious.
If you install a Kalash in the house then it is considered important for you to worship the girl. Only then can we get the full results of worship.
