Desi ghee is considered a great health companion, and it is commonly used for cooking. But many times desi ghee is used incorrectly in homes, due to which its benefits can turn into disadvantages. Let us know what things should be kept in mind while using desi ghee in cooking.

1. Do not use desi ghee in making paratha

Many people use desi ghee to make paratha in winter, but it can be harmful for health. The smoking point of desi ghee is 252 degrees Celsius. When ghee is heated beyond this temperature, it starts emitting smoke and may produce harmful chemical compounds. When paratha is made, the fumes from the ghee can have adverse health effects.

2. Be careful while tempering desi ghee

Although the smoking point of desi ghee is relatively high, but if you heat the ghee for tadka so much that smoke starts coming out, it can also be harmful to health. While cooking, always keep in mind that ghee should not burn and smoke should not form.

3. Do not use desi ghee in making puri.

For example, caution should be taken while making paratha and puri. If you are going to fry the puri in desi ghee, make sure that the ghee does not get too hot. If ghee starts emitting smoke, its consumption can be harmful to health.
