UP ByElection 2024: Political parties have started making strategies for the by-elections to be held on 9 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. While BJP is continuously engaged in reconciliation, Samajwadi Party and Congress are also gearing up to compete with the ruling party with full force. According to reports, BJP has made a special strategy to avenge the defeat in UP during the Lok Sabha elections. In which BJP will once again have to work hard to attract the Dalits of UP.

Why did BJP lose in UP?

BJP strategists believe that the narrative played by Congress by remembering the Constitution in the Lok Sabha elections has caused loss to BJP. It is noteworthy that between April and May, SP and Congress leaders had said several times that if BJP won, they would end reservation. Due to this, BJP has suffered a lot in Uttar Pradesh.

The Lok Sabha elections of 2019 were very important from a strategic point of view for Uttar Pradesh. SP-BSP had joined hands to compete with BJP, but such a storm came against BJP that the alliance broke. When the condition of Congress also worsened. BJP contested elections on 78 seats, out of which the party managed to win 62 seats. BSP got 10 seats, SP got 5 seats. BJP also snatched Amethi from Congress. Congress won Rae Bareli seat, from where Sonia Gandhi won.

BJP got less Dalit votes in 2024

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP won the maximum 240 seats. Whereas Congress had 99 seats and SP's graph increased to 37. BJP leaders say that Dalit votes will get less in 2024. Dalit votes played an important role in nine seats of Uttar Pradesh. If the number of Dalit voters in each seat had increased by 20 to 50 thousand, the situation would have been different.

There has been a decline of 8 percent in the Dalit votes received by BJP in UP. At the same time, if BSP contests the by-elections on all 10 seats, then BJP may get relief. In such a situation, BJP is making tireless efforts to restore the confidence of Dalit voters.

When will the by-elections be held?

Let us tell you that the by-election for the vacant seats of Uttar Pradesh Assembly will be held on 13 November 2024. Voting will be held on 9 seats, while there will be no voting on Milkipur seat due to pending election petition.
