SheBox Portal: A special portal named SheBox Portal has been launched by the Central Government for speedy hearing of cases of sexual harassment of women. Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi launched the portal on Thursday.
The portal aims to ensure workplace safety for women by resolving and managing complaints of sexual harassment. The ministry announced that the 'She-Box' portal is an important step in the government's mission to ensure safety of women at the workplace.
This website will serve as a central data store for information related to internal and local committees in both government and private sectors across the country. This portal facilitates women to register complaints, track the status of their complaints and ensure timely resolution.
It also has a designated nodal officer for real-time monitoring of complaints, streamlining the redressal process. Launching the portal, Annapurna Devi highlighted the significance of the portal in creating a safer and more inclusive work environment for women.
He said that this initiative is a significant step towards providing a more efficient and secure platform for redressal of complaints of sexual harassment at the workplace. It will further the Government's commitment to create a safer and more inclusive work environment for women across India.
The ministry statement emphasised that the portal will act as a central hub for information of internal committees and local committees across the country, including both government and private sectors. The initiative aims to provide a streamlined process for effective redressal of grievances.
