Sources said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in touch with Test captain Shan Masood and Australia's new Test head coach Jason Gillespie to finalize the plan for the series with Bangladesh. Masood is captaining the county team Yorkshire in England. The Pakistani team was eliminated from Group A of the T20 World Cup after losing to the USA and arch-rival India in the league matches.

According to a source, one of the proposals being considered is to rest senior players like Babar, Shaheen, Rizwan and replace them with 'uncapped' or players who have played some international matches. The source said, 'But no decision has been taken yet as Masood and Gillespie will take the final decision on team selection. The number of national selectors can also be reduced in the next few weeks and the PCB can return to the old system of selection process. The source also said that the PCB will also consult Gillespie and white ball head coach Gary Kirsten on the plan for the ICC Champions Trophy to be held in February-March next year.
