Once again the weather has taken a turn in Haryana. Due to the activation of Western Disturbance, rain started in many districts of the state from this morning. This change has further increased the effect of cold.

Heavy rain was recorded in Sonipat, Rewari, Panipat, Karnal, Yamunanagar and Narnaul today. At the same time, cold winds have started due to light rain in other districts. This sudden change has increased the cold further.

Rain and fog alert in these districts

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding rain and fog in some districts of Haryana:

  • moderate rain alert: Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal.
  • possibility of light rain: In other districts.
  • yellow haze alert: Hisar, Jind, Panipat, Sonipat, Karnal, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Rewari, Mahendragarh, Palwal and Charkhi Dadri.

Western disturbance will remain active till January 11

According to the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance will become active again around January 10-11. Due to this, there is a possibility of rain in various parts of Haryana. Due to cold winds, there may be a further drop in day and night temperatures.

Weather patterns in the coming days

Director of Chandigarh Meteorological Department, Dr. Surendra Kumar said that at present there is no sign of relief from cold in Haryana. Fog and rain will continue in the state for the next few days.
Another western disturbance is likely to become active around January 10, which may further increase the impact of cold. Due to winds coming from hilly areas, further drop in temperature may be recorded in the next few days.
