West Bengal Train Accident: A major railway accident has happened in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal today. In which a freight train hit the Kanchenjunga Express train. So far 8 people have died due to this tragedy. While 25 people have been injured. Rescue work is still going on. According to preliminary information received from sources, both the trains came on the same track, due to which this accident happened. The pilot and the guard were also not spared in this serious incident.

They broke the box with a gas cutter and took the people out
A major rail accident took place in West Bengal this morning. In which a freight train hit the Kanchenjunga Express carrying passengers from behind in Jalpaiguri. Due to which several coaches of the Kanchenjunga Express derailed. The death toll in this tragedy has risen to 8. While about 25 passengers are reported to be injured. The Railway Minister has gone to the spot regarding this incident. At present, people are being taken out by breaking the coaches with a gas cutter. The injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Three coaches of Kanchenjunga Express derailed
According to information received from sources, this accident happened at around 9.30 am. Train number 13174 Kanchenjunga Express collided with a goods train. Due to which three coaches of Kanchenjunga Express derailed. After this serious accident, rescue teams and local people reached the spot. And the work of rescuing the passengers had started.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav expressed grief
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav expressed grief over the train accident by posting on social media. He wrote, a very tragic accident has happened in the NFR area. Rescue operation is going on on a war footing. Railway, NDRF and SDRF teams are working together. The injured are being taken to the hospital. Senior officials have reached the spot.
