The wedding season will start from 12 November 2024. According to research by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), there could be a business of about Rs 5.9 lakh crore in the retail sector of goods and services during the wedding season this year. Last year, the total business from about 35 lakh marriages was Rs 4.25 lakh crore. There were 11 auspicious times for marriage in the year 2023, which are 18 auspicious this year. This will also increase business. According to CAT, this season, a business of Rs 1.5 lakh crore is expected to be generated from 4.5 lakh weddings in Delhi alone.

According to Acharya Durgesh Tare, this year the wedding season will start from Devutani Ekadashi on 12th November and will continue till 16th December. Auspicious dates in November are 12, 13, 17, 18, 22, 23, 25, 26, 28 and 29, while in December they are 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15 and 16. After this, the wedding programs will stop for about a month and will start again from mid-January to March 2025.

Apart from this, demand for banquet halls, hotels, wedding venues, event management, tent decoration, catering services, flower decoration, transport, cab service, photography, videography, orchestra, band, light and sound also increases.
