Punjab Weather Update: There is a possibility of rain in Punjab and Chandigarh today (Thursday). Due to dry weather in the last 24 hours, the temperature has increased by 2.5 degrees. The temperature in the state has once again crossed 37 degrees. The temperature of Faridkot was recorded at 37.2 degrees. Along with this, after the increase of 3.6 degrees in the temperature of Chandigarh, the maximum temperature has been recorded at 36.4 degrees.
Today, 10 districts of Punjab, Chandigarh, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Sangrur and Mansa will receive normal rainfall, while rain is expected in all other districts. Apart from Thursday, such weather is expected on Friday as well.
In the last 7 days, 45 percent less rain has been recorded in Punjab and 27 percent less in Chandigarh. Punjab usually receives 24.3 mm of rain from 5 to 11 September, whereas only 13.2 mm of rain has been recorded in Punjab during these days. Chandigarh usually receives 71.5 mm of rain, whereas till now only 51.9 mm of rain has been recorded. Whereas in the neighboring state of Haryana, there have been 75 percent more clouds in these seven days.
In these 7 days, there are two districts Tarn Taran and Muktsar where there was no rain at all. Whereas Fazilka and Bathinda have received 98 percent less rain, Amritsar 94 percent less, Kuparthala 93 percent less and Hoshiarpur 82 percent less rain. Apart from this, there are two districts Rupnagar and Fatehgarh Sahib where there has been more rain than normal.

Amritsar- The maximum temperature was recorded at 34 degrees on Wednesday evening. There will be light clouds. The temperature can remain between 26 to 35 degrees.
Jalandhar- The maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 35 degrees. There will be light clouds. The temperature can remain between 26 to 34 degrees.
Ludhiana- The maximum temperature was recorded at 35.1 degrees yesterday evening. There will be light clouds. The temperature can remain between 24 to 33 degrees.
Patiala- Maximum temperature was recorded at 35.2 degrees. There will be light clouds, there is a possibility of rain. The temperature can remain between 25 to 33 degrees.
