Weather Update: It is extremely hot these days in many states of India. Heat wave alerts are being issued every day in many states. People are being warned not to leave their homes without any reason. It is raining and snowing in the hilly areas. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of severe heat in Eastern India on May 1 and in the South Peninsular region for the next 5 days.
Releasing the weather forecast, IMD has said that there may be heavy rains along with storm in Northeast India during the next 5 days. There are chances of rain in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura.
How will be the weather condition in Uttar Pradesh?
Even in Uttar Pradesh, the mercury starts rising as soon as the day breaks. By noon it becomes difficult for people to go out of the house due to heat wave. However, some relief is expected today. Different temperatures are being recorded in many parts of the state. The Meteorological Department estimates that strong winds will blow at a speed of 25 to 30 km per hour on Wednesday afternoon. A drop in minimum temperature may be seen.
There is no respite from the scorching heat in Jharkhand yet
The people of Jharkhand are not going to get respite from the heat right now. According to the Meteorological Center, the temperature is expected to increase further for the next two days. Yellow and orange alert has been issued for other districts including Ranchi. On May 1, an orange alert has been issued regarding heat wave in East and West Singhbhum, Seraikela Kharsawan, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Deoghar, Jamtara, Pakur, Dumka, Godda and Sahibganj of the state.
Heat wave alert issued for these states
Today (April 30), the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heat wave in some districts of West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The scorching heat continues in these states. There may be rain in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.
The mercury has crossed 42 degrees Celsius in Bihar. Due to heat wave in Jharkhand, schools up to class 8th have been closed till further orders. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Palakkad district of Kerala in view of the extreme heat.
IMD has predicted rain in these states
Despite severe heat wave-like conditions, the IMD has predicted light to moderate rain/snow with isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds (40-50 kmph). There are many states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura which will see rainy conditions in the coming five days.
According to the Meteorological Department, between April 30 and May 2, Sikkim may receive light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and strong winds (30-40 km per hour). At the same time, there is also a possibility of sporadic hailstorm on May 1.
