Weather Update: Heat wave continues, heat wave alert for these states, possibility of rain in Delhi-NCR

Weather Update: A lot of changes are being seen in the weather of the country in the month of April. The scorching heat has started in most parts of India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the mercury has dropped below normal in many states since Monday, April 8, following the onset of a strong western disturbance.

States like Maharashtra, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala are likely to experience rain and thundershowers on Wednesday, April 10. The weather department has predicted hailstorm, storm, lightning and moderate rain in Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar in West Bengal and Mangan districts of Sikkim today.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in Katni, Umaria, Seoni, Shahdol, Betul, Damoh, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Balaghat, Hoshangabad, Narsinghpur and Sehore of Madhya Pradesh. IMD has predicted rain in Maharashtra's Akola, Amravati, Wardha, Yavatmal, Nanded and Hingoli on Wednesday.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and thundershowers in northwest India during April 13-16. There may be rain and thundershowers in Delhi on 13 and 14 April. IMD's weather forecast states that there is a possibility of isolated heavy rain/snow in Jammu and Kashmir on April 13 and 14.

Sporadic hailstorm may occur in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on April 13. Dust storm/storm (50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph) is likely over Rajasthan on April 13. According to IMD, rain and thundershowers are likely to continue at isolated places over Rajasthan on Thursday and Friday due to the influence of easterly winds.

According to IMD, winds at a speed of 30-40 km per hour are expected in some parts of Kota, Jaipur, Bharatpur and Udaipur divisions in the next two-three days. Senior IMD scientist Dr Naresh Kumar predicted that temperatures in Karnataka may drop due to storm and rain activity.

Heat wave conditions will continue in various parts of Saurashtra and Kutch till April 11. The temperature in the national capital Delhi may rise up to 40 degrees Celsius next week. On the other hand, the weather department has predicted that different parts of the country may experience 10-20 days of heat compared to the normal four to eight days during the April-June period.
