Punjab Weather Update: Monsoon has slowed down in Punjab and Chandigarh. There is no rain alert till 25th. However, today (Friday) there is a possibility of light rain at some places in 7 districts. These districts include Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, Bathinda, Mansa, Barnala and Sangrur.
In the last two days, the temperature has dropped in all the districts. The temperature has changed from 1 to 6 degrees. Along with this, the average temperature of the state has dropped by 1.8 degrees. This is 2.8 degrees less than the normal temperature of the state. The highest temperature of 36 degrees was recorded in Abohar.
In this monsoon season, from June 1 to September 19, three districts of the state, Tarn Taran, Faridkot and Pathankot, received more than normal rainfall. While other places received less rainfall. This difference in rainfall has ranged from 15 percent to 60 percent. From September 1 till now, the state has received 36 percent less rainfall. The average rainfall at this time is 54.9 mm.
Whereas 35 mm of rain has been recorded. The same is the condition of Chandigarh. 711.7 mm of rain has been recorded since June 1. This is 13.3 mm less than normal.
Temperature of major cities of Punjab
Chandigarh- The maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 34.6 degrees. Today it will be partly cloudy. The temperature will be between 25.0 to 31.0 degrees.
Amritsar- The maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 30.6 degrees. Today it will be partly cloudy. The temperature will be between 26.0 to 35.0 degrees.
Jalandhar- The temperature was recorded at 33.7 degrees on Thursday evening. It will be cloudy today. The temperature will remain between 25 and 35 degrees.
Patiala- The maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 34.8 degrees. Today it will be cloudy. The temperature will be recorded between 26 to 33 degrees.
Mohali- Yesterday the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.9 degrees. It will be cloudy. Today the temperature can remain between 29 to 35 degrees.
