Weather patterns changed in North India, Orange and Yellow alert declared for these states

Weather Update: The weather is changing once again in many states including the country's capital. Amidst the red alert, there was heavy snowfall throughout the day in the hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh and torrential rains in the plains as well. Most parts of Punjab and Uttarakhand also received rain and thundershowers.

Chance of rain in these states

Apart from this, strong winds prevailed in some areas of Western and Eastern Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh and it remained cloudy at some places. This situation is likely to continue for the next two days. Today, there may be rain at some places in Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Western Uttar Pradesh and hailstorm may occur at some places along with strong winds, for which the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert.

Avalanche danger in the Himalayas

There is danger of avalanche in many areas of Himachal. Most of the low-lying areas of the state, including the capital Shimla and Dharamshala, were hit by a storm with a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour on Monday afternoon. It snowed in Manali. Due to this there was a jam in Nehru Kund. Dhauladhar hills of Kangra district also received snowfall. It also rained at many places in Chamba, Kullu and Shimla districts.

Orange alert of heavy rain and snowfall today, yellow alert tomorrow

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain and snowfall in Shimla today, while a yellow alert has been issued for Wednesday. Apart from this, the weather has been predicted to remain bad in the state till February 22. There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the high altitude areas of Chamba, Kullu, Shimla, Mandi and Kangra including Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti on 23 and 24 February.
