Weather has turned bad! Heavy rains in some parts of the country and severe heat warning in others, know IMD's update

Monsoon season in India: Monsoon is progressing at a steady pace across the country. After Kerala, Maharashtra and now Gujarat, Indradev is being worshipped in North India as well. However, the mood of the weather has changed in many states of the country including Delhi-NCR. There are clouds in some places, the weather has become pleasant due to rain in some places, heat wave alert is being issued in some cities of the country.

As the monsoon season begins, the Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning for coastal Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, Odisha and Andaman and Nicobar Islands for the next 24 hours.

Rain forecast till June 26:

Apart from these states, heavy rains are expected in various areas of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Gujarat till June 26. These states are expected to receive about 115.5-204.4 mm of rain along with strong winds.

Heat wave alert in many states:

The rainy season is yet to come in Delhi. The maximum temperature in the capital today is expected to be 40 degrees and the minimum temperature 31 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has predicted partly cloudy weather and light rain with thunder till June 28. However, the department has also issued a heat wave alert in many states. Heat wave conditions can be seen in various parts of Punjab and Bihar.

In the last 24 hours, the highest temperature in the country was recorded in Jaisalmer (Western Rajasthan) at 45.0 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department says that temperatures are being recorded between 38-40 degrees Celsius in various parts of Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, NCR, Eastern UP and Bihar. The Regional Meteorological Department of Rajasthan has said that the maximum temperature is likely to increase by two to three degrees Celsius in Jodhpur, Bikaner division and parts of Shekhawati region during the next 72 hours and the maximum temperature is likely to reach 43 to 45 degrees. Heat wave may occur at some places during the next 72 hours, although there is a possibility of rain at many places on Thursday and Friday.
