Weather deteriorated for three days, electrical equipment at 26 places got damaged

Dhamtari, April 10 (HS). Unseasonal rains have had a widespread impact in the district. Due to unseasonal rain and storm with intermittent loud thunder for three days, electrical equipment and wires were damaged at about 26 places in Dhamtari and city areas. After the weather cleared, the linemen and employees included in the electricity department team carried out electrical repairs, after which the electrical system has now been repaired everywhere.

Complaints were received about power damage in the city and many villages due to unseasonal rain and storm amid strong thunder. At one place the transformer was damaged. Due to this, the electricity supply in the area was affected, increasing the problems of the people, but as soon as the weather cleared, the officers and employees of the electricity department took up the electrical repair work on the basis of complaints. Executive Engineer of Dhamtari division, Vikesh Kumar Sharma said that due to sudden unseasonal rain and strong storm in Dhamtari district, there was no electricity supply in many forest villages of Dhamtari zone, Dhamtari rural, Arjuni, Nagari and Belargaon sub-division etc. areas under Dhamtari division. Lines and transformers were damaged. The trunk of trees broke and fell on the power lines, causing damage to Gattasilli, Karaiha, Amdi, Arjuni, Palarikhar, Gondlanala, Khairbhari, Ghotgaon, Batanharra, Chargaon, Jabarra, Dugli, Saloni, Devpur, village Harfar, Patelguda, Barabandha of Araud Duban area. Electricity lines of villages like Keregaon, Kumhada, Raipara, Harrakothi, Bagrumnala, Hitali, Dokal etc. were damaged.

The transformer in village Maradev also broke down. Electricity supply was disrupted simultaneously in these villages. Due to large number of electrical damages, engineers and technical staff of Dhamtari Zone, Arjuni, Dhamtari Rural, Nagari and Belargaon sub-divisions formed a team and worked to repair the lines. Transformers were also repaired, after which electricity supply was restored in all the villages, which has brought a lot of relief to the villagers.
