Jagdalpur, 23 August (HS). After the change of power in Chhattisgarh, the security forces have launched an aggressive campaign against the Naxalites and have killed 146 Naxalites in the last seven months, in which many big Naxalite members have been killed. The Naxalites, frustrated by this, are now doing target killings to save their existence. To destroy the information system of the police, the Naxalites are targeting and killing innocent villagers along with their comrades within the organization.

According to information received from the police, since January this year till now the Naxalites have killed 16 villagers on suspicion of being informers, not even sparing a student. The Naxalites have also awarded death sentence to two of their fellow Naxalites in the Jan Adalat.

Bastar IG Sundarraj P. while talking to journalists on Friday said that the public's trust in Naxalism has been broken due to the newly established security camps, community policing programs and provision of roads, electricity and water facilities in the interior areas. The police have achieved the desired success in the campaign run from the new camps. This is the reason that the weakened Naxalites are now targeting and killing innocent villagers to maintain an atmosphere of fear and terror in the interior areas.
