We will welcome all political parties that believe in the Constitution: Kharge

New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said in the meeting of the constituent parties of the India Alliance on Wednesday that all political parties having unwavering faith in the Constitution are welcome in this alliance. He said that if non-BJP ruled states want to join the India Block, they are welcome. After the two-hour meeting, he said that the opposition will continue to fight against the fascist rule of the Narendra Modi-led BJP. He thanked the people for giving a huge number of seats.

Regarding the claim of forming the government, Kharge said that we will not make any claim of forming the government at the moment. We will take the right action at the right time. We will focus on the aspirations of the people of non-BJP ruled states.

The meeting called by the Congress president discussed the election results and the political situation. Any possibility of government formation was also examined. It was also being seen whether old allies Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu could come back into the fold.

He said that the people of India Block are grateful for the decision they got. The public has taught the BJP a real lesson. A direct attack has been made on those who hate, corrupt and deprive the people.

He said that this decision of the people has been given to protect the Constitution of India, against inflation, against unemployment and against collusion with capitalism. The important thing here is that the meetings of the ruling NDA block and the opposition Bharat block are going on simultaneously.

Congress called the Lok Sabha results a big mandate of the people against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They alleged that his intention was to overturn the decision of the people. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that the PM used to say that after 1962 no one has formed the government three times in a row, but I will form it. Nehru formed the government with 364 seats in 1952, 371 seats in 1957 and 361 seats in 1962. Whereas here BJP itself has come down to 240 seats and could not cross the majority mark on its own. He also said that in 1989 Congress had 197 seats and despite being the largest party, Rajiv Gandhi did not claim to form the government.

Ramesh said that this mandate shows that Loke has rejected PM Modi.
